What is Giving Day?
Giving Day is an opportunity for local communities to come together on one day to help the families who have been impacted by a home fire or other disaster and who urgently need Red Cross services to get back on their feet.
Why should I make a donation on Giving Day?
Your gift can provide hope and critical relief, like food, shelter and other essentials to people who need it most. When we each donate on Giving Day, we can make an impact and help more families after a disaster or home fire.
No. The information collected during the event is only used by the American Red Cross. It will not be sold or shared with third party organizations.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, your gift is tax deductible. You will receive an e-mail confirmation that will serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
How can I get involved?
You can get involved in two main ways:

Where do I find my local Red Cross' donation page?
To find your local Red Cross donation page, go the home page and enter your zip code into the ‘Search’ box. You can select your closest Red Cross region on the results page to get to your local Red Cross donation page which highlights local information and your local Red Cross’ Facebook and Twitter pages so you can follow the latest news. On Giving Day, you will also be able to track real-time donations for your local Red Cross.
How will my Red Cross Giving Day donation be used?
Donations made on this website for Red Cross Giving Day will be used for Red Cross Disaster Relief which supports disasters big and small, including home fires.
How will I receive a receipt for my donation?
Beginning on April 21, 2016, once your donation is processed you will receive a confirmation receipt for your donation at the email address you provided when you made your donation. You will also be able to request a receipt on the website after Giving Day, on April 22, 2016.
Can I make a donation before April 21?
Yes, you can schedule a donation starting April 1. If you make your donation before April 21, your credit card will not be processed until April 21. You will receive an email confirming your scheduled donation and then on April 21 when your donation is processed, you will receive your confirmation receipt to the email address provided when you scheduled your donation. Your donation will appear in the total amount raised on the website then on April 21.
