The American Red Cross Gold Country Region serves a 24-county territory comprised of Alpine, Amador, Butte, Calaveras, Colusa, El Dorado, Glenn, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, San Joaquin, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Stanislaus, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity, Tuolumne, Yolo, and Yuba Counties.
Last year in the Gold Country Region, Red Cross volunteers responded to local emergencies, on average, once every 8 hours. The majority of these responses are for home fires, and volunteers are there to provide comfort and resources to families. Gold Country operated emergency evacuation shelters, providing safe refuge for residents in the face of dozens of wildfires, and even floods.
Meanwhile, Red Cross volunteers also provided support to thousands of military members and their families, made numerous communities better prepared for disasters, and trained thousands in lifesaving skills such as CPR and First Aid.
Meeting the needs of our communities is possible thanks to your support!
